Our solutions for livestock farming

15 years of expertise in livestock agrivoltaics

Since 2008, Photosol has developed its expertise in agrivoltaics, initially in synergy with sheep farming, and later expanding its solutions to cattle and poultry farming. Today, we tailor our installations to the specific needs of various sectors, whether for sheep, cattle, or poultry farming, in line with industry recommendations and quality labels such as Label Rouge and IGP.

To date, over 540 hectares are either under development or already integrated, bringing tangible agronomic benefits: calmer animals, more abundant pastures, and more profitable operations.

Our areas of expertise

Sheep

Sheep

For sheep farming, our agrivoltaic structures are designed with a minimum height of 1.5 meters, allowing easy passage for the animals. They provide shelter against weather challenges such as heat and hail, while being adapted to extensive or rotational grazing systems.

cattle

cattle

Cattle benefit from structures with a minimum height of 2.40 meters, specifically designed to accommodate their passage. We offer various types of structures, such as controllable trackers, canopies, or vertical panels, to meet the specific needs of each project.

Poultry

Poultry

Our poultry canopies are ideal for poultry farming, providing smooth movement of animals beneath the solar panels. Their height is adjusted according to the recommendations of Synalaf.

The technical characteristics of our installations

Structures tailored to your project: fixed structures, poultry canopies, controllable trackers.

picto-emprise

Low land footprint minimizing the impact on the pasture and maximizing the space allocated for livestock.

picto-panneaux

Landscape-oriented panels for better water distribution.

picto-ecartement

Spacing and height of solar tables adjusted for your comfort and that of the animals.

The advantages of our agrivoltaic installations

Protection des prairies

Protection of pastures against extreme weather events.

Amélioration du bien-être animal

Improvement of animal welfare through shading and shelter during bad weather.

Équipement des parcelles

Equipment for the plots (mobile fences, water troughs, handling pens, etc.).

« Coming from a non-agricultural background, it is very difficult for young people wanting to start their own farm to find land. My meeting with the Photosol teams allowed me to consider setting up an agricultural operation. I was able to benefit from the team’s support on equipment investments, including mobile fences to partition the fields for better grazing, barriers for sheep containment, and a livestock trailer to transport equipment and sheep from pasture to pasture. Starting from scratch, I was able to establish myself with 100 Solognote sheep, now 150, on around 40 hectares. Agrivoltaics is a real opportunity for the sustainability of our French agriculture. »
