Bellac photovoltaic park (87)

The project

This project, with an installed capacity of 20 MWp, produces 22.5 GWh of electricity annually, which is equivalent to nearly three times the electricity consumption of the population of Bellac. Developed since 2010 and with a building permit obtained in 2012, this pioneering installation combines renewable energy production with agricultural co-activity, notably through eco-grazing with sheep under the solar panels.

Starting in 2025, the electricity produced will be sold to Leroy Merlin under a 20-year supply contract, covering 17% of the retailer’s annual energy needs. This partnership is fully aligned with Leroy Merlin’s energy transition strategy, which includes investing in the renovation of its buildings to reduce their consumption and supply them with green energy, while strengthening its commitment to the climate.
