Agrivoltaic park of Yzeure (03)
The project
Since its installation in 2015, Flavian Meunier has been running a fairly traditional sheep farming operation in Yzeure, near Moulins, the prefecture of Allier. Since 2018, he has been indirectly producing electricity on an 11-hectare ground-mounted photovoltaic park.
He now manages a farm of 300 Texel and Charollais sheep on a total agricultural area (SAU) of 81 hectares (55 hectares of pasture, 15 hectares of cereals, and 11 hectares of photovoltaics).
Photosol installed a 5 MWp photovoltaic power plant, which generates 5,850 MWh annually thanks to the 44,000 thin-film modules. This is equivalent to the energy consumption of 4,485 people per year and saves 490 tons of CO2.
